For the second year running, Metro has just completed its Recreate competition where students and recent graduates are invited to create something amazing from used copies of Metro.

This year, there were two categories, Art and Design, with £1000 up for grabs for first prize and £250 for 2nd prize in each.

Over 300 entries were submitted, more than double that of the last year’s competition, all to a very high standard. Our team of expert judges, including Dr Paul Mickelthwaite of Kingston University and Sarah Johnson of www.redesigndesign.org deliberated at length to decide on the winners and runners up.

It was so difficult that, in fact, 2 second prizes were awarded in the Art Category.

The winning entries can be seen below with a list of runners up and a selection of entries will be exhibited at the New Designers event at The Business Design Centre in Islington from 16th - 19th July. See www.newdesigners.com for more details.
